Anthony Hamilton - Ain't Nobody Worryin'
Ain't Nobody Worryin' is the third studio album by American R&B singer Anthony Hamilton, released on December 13, 2005 by So So Def Recordings and Zomba Label Group. The album debuted at number 19 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 112,000 copies in its first week. It was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on March 29, 2006, for shipments of over 500,000 copies in the US. As of March 2008, the album has sold 760,000 copies in the US.
The album features a blend of soul, gospel, neo soul, reggae and contemporary R&B styles, with Hamilton's expressive vocals and personal lyrics. The album's title track was inspired by the social issues and hardships that Hamilton witnessed in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. He said, "I wanted to write about what was going on in the world, what was going on in my neighborhood, what was going on in my life. I wanted to give a voice to the voiceless."
The album received critical acclaim from music critics, who praised Hamilton's maturity, authenticity and versatility as an artist. AllMusic editor Andy Kellman wrote that Hamilton "continues to make some of the most individual and relevant R&B around" and called the album "a significant step forward from Comin' from Where I'm From and Soulife". Rolling Stone reviewer Christian Hoard called Hamilton "a consistent pleasure" and stated that he "sings with a depth that transcends technique". Entertainment Weekly critic Neil Drumming described the album as "a stirring collection of warm, largely acoustic soul" and commended Hamilton for "eschewing hip-hop swagger for old-fashioned emotion".
The album spawned four singles: "Can't Let Go", "Sista Big Bones", "Change Your World" and "Never Love Again". "Can't Let Go" was the most successful single, reaching number 13 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number 28 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also earned Hamilton a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in 2007.
